Analytics, medicine, aerospace, military, industry, telecommunications, or industrial
communications – for each area of application there is an ideal large-core fiber with a
step-index profile.

In laser technology optical power has to be transmitted with as little loss as possible.
High-OH fibers are used for UV wavelengths; otherwise, low-OH fibers with a quartz/
quartz profile (NA = 0.22, diameter = 200 μm to 1000 μm) can be used. The high
damage threshold is important: 1 GW/cm².

LASER COMPONENTS offers fiber assemblies from our in-house production that are
equipped with high-power connectors and are ready to be used. In order to reach
the highest coupling efficiency possible, we coat the fiber end facets. An AR coating
improves the efficiency by 6-8%.
